farvel &peter laugesen is a collaborative effort between the rockin’ impro trio farvel and veteran of danish litterature peter laugesen.
farvel has their roots in århus, where they together have developed their own approach to collective improvisation. working in a frame of a noise rock aesthetic, but rarely talking about their music.
peter laugesen has since his debut in 1967, kept a steady output of litteratury works. working with poetry, theater and journalism, peter has made his way to be a pillar in danish litterature.
the album documents their first meeting, both musically and in person.
farvel being long time fans of the work of peter laugesen (especially his interactions with music), invited him to a recording session at the commotion studio at lydhavnen in århus.
the album was recorded in just an afternoon – after having lunch with peter and his wife inga, farvel went into the live room with their instruments and peter was put in a vocal booth, bringing a large collection of his books with him.
the music was then improvised in almost one sitting, and is shared now as this album.
