at times I can struggle to find a balance in my daily life. one thing that has been helping me, is to think of the not knowing of the future, as the potential it holds for good things to happen.

for me, “not knowing” is very relevant in the context of movement shaped like a heart, as i really don’t know what it should develop into. but i find confidence in believing that it is often very good to not know things.

i often get asked “what is movement shaped like a heart?” – there is a quick and easy answer to that question and i use that answer when talking to bookers and when applying for funding. but i also find that quick and easy answer, only to be relevant in those contexts. an actual answer to this question, i seem to only come close to in longer conversations.

three themes i keep coming back to, are insisting on not accepting the terms given by an industry and by institutions (and hence doing it yourself), gathering people and of course sharing creative music.

this release is a compilation featuring one track by almost every artist that has performed at one of our events in 2025. magnus has made a very good habit of recording close to every concert, and this release is very much here because of him.

listening back to this compilation makes me very happy. the music holds a lot of very fond memories, all shared with old and new friends, and at least in a very practical way, it is able to sum up what movement shaped like a heart has been in 2025. to me there is a very clear thread running through all this music.

movement shaped like a heart has gained more structure throughout 2025. now we are seven people pushing this: magnus, timothy, johannes, jens, asbjørn, mikkel and me. and we are all trying to keep it going and keep learning with the process.

but it is also very important to stress the larger and always expanding group of people, who are essential to making things happen with movement shaped like a heart.
