peripheral is oliver magnusson’s debut release.

“i began experimenting with tape and found such solace in the sounds i
heard.”

through the haunting beauty of the tape loop’s repetitive nature,
peripheral creates an atmosphere of melancholy, devastation, and loss. still, there is room for specks of light and subtle humor – nothing can be fully one-sided.

“my dear friend tim said that these songs were like being placed on different shelves in a bookcase. i thought that was nice.”

the songs were made using old reel-to-reels, audio effects, and cut-ups of self-composed music.
